Obsession
Dear Kate
In my letter to Kate Moss I wanted to adreed the parasoxial relationship in which people develop with celebrities paruciualru with someone like Moss who’s contribution culturallly is quite univolvwd with her voice or actions or taste, rather her look. The works quite personal I’m being honest about how I interact with the model and the contradictory feelings I have towards my obsessive behavior.
Dear Mario
I have drawn hundreds of Kate Moss portraits and have been mailing them to Mario Sorrentos house in Lodnon. Mario Sorrentoes most notibale work at least culturally speaking is his portraits of Moss, his ex girlfriend/lover. These black and white portraits which became campaigns for Calvin Kelins men’s fragrance ‘Obsession’, aswell as Sorentiis book of outtakes titled ‘Kate’ define his career. He still admires Moss dearly and speaks of his continued love towards his friend. By sending these drawings of my admiration of Moss to sorrenti I’m attempting to kind of reach someone who understands, unbderstanda in a real way the obsession with a celebrity.
