i love you i am so politically correct
After straying at Ormond for a year I became increasingly aware of the power of such an insular community. After the first few weeks of college before uni started and everyone I was hanging out with and interacting with and trying to be attractive for was Ormondians, I shaved my monobrow. I spent more time with friends outside of Ormond, relationships which were much more fulfilling and interesting. I thought about how unnecessary this simulated community is for at least myself. Through the work I wanted to playfully mock the college system and the ways it causes division of course through class but also subculture.
Lilia and I hosted a show in my Ormond bedroom where we made work about our experience at the college. Of course Lilia being a friend from the outside who I spend more time with at Ormond than Ormondians.
